Staying home when sick
BUSD Staff Visual Screening and BUSD Staff/Student/Family Self-Screening Protocols:
The district requires all staff and students to be vigilant in daily self-assessing for possible symptoms of
illness. Visual and self-screening should be for the symptoms listed below:
Has your child had any symptoms listed below that are new or different from usual?
Fever (100.4°F/38°C or higher) or chills
New uncontrolled cough
Muscle or body aches
New onset of severe headache
New loss of taste or smell
Congestion or runny nose
Diarrhea, nausea or vomiting
If individuals present with the above symptoms:
Stay at home and contact your child(s) school and go into isolation.
If individuals present with the above symptoms while at school they must be referred to the isolation room and receive a secondary screening. Click Here for full protocol.
