Before Coming to School: Daily Health Screening
Staying home when sick
BUSD Staff Visual Screening and BUSD Staff/Student/Family Self-Screening Protocols:
The district requires all staff and students to be vigilant in daily self-assessing for possible symptoms of
illness. Visual and self-screening should be for the symptoms listed below:
Has your child had any symptoms listed below that are new or different from usual?

Fever (100.4°F/38°C or higher) or chills

New uncontrolled cough
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- New onset of severe headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Diarrhea, nausea or vomiting
If individuals present with the above symptoms:
- Stay at home and contact your child(s) school and go into isolation.
- If individuals present with the above symptoms while at school they must be referred to the isolation room and receive a secondary screening. Click Here for full protocol.
